Collecting clinical outcome assessments (COA),such as questionnaires or tests for ADHD can be used for
screening, diagnosis, and monitoring. However, this can take a lot of time and resources within a clinic. We are investigating if outcome measures can be collected remotely, using a digital platform, and if this would help clinics to screen, diagnose,or monitor ADHD in children, young people, and adults.
First,we would like to understand how COAs are being collected currently, and if neurodevelopmental and mental health services seeing people with ADHD are currently using any digital health technologies to help them collect these. Therefore,we are conducting a survey with 200-300 healthcare professionals (HCPs) in England working in these services. We will recruit HCPs through the Research Delivery Network,as well as from the research team's professional contacts and easily available information about services. We will ask HCPs about their service, including who they see,and if they use COA,including why they collect these, and how, including if they currently use any technology.
After HCPs complete the survey,we will ask them if they wish to take part in a follow-up interview. Through the interviews,we would like to understand if HCPs think a remote, digital administration of COAs would work in their service. We will ask if they think there are any barriers to using these in their routine practice,or if there is anything which would help clinics to use them.
