Intentional self-harm
This information is provided directly by researchers, and we recognise that it isn't always easy to understand. We are working with researchers to improve the accessibility of this information. PRIMARY: to carry out investigations of the different aspects of deliberate self harm (DSH)that will inform and assesss national strategies on DSH and suicide prevention.
-Provide accurate data on national trends and patterns in self-harm
-Identify difference between centres which can be related to local characteristics
-detect changing patterns of self-harm.
-Establishment of a network that could take on other specific research projects, including treatment and evaluation.
Start dates may differ between countries and research sites. The research team are responsible for keeping the information up-to-date.
