For Anthony, from Bexhill-on-Sea, a prostate cancer diagnosis came with a stark prognosis: just 3 and a half months to live. Faced with this news, he made a pivotal decision: to join a clinical trial.

The trial, involving regular blood tests and injections, quickly began to reduce Anthony's PSA (prostate-specific antigen - a protein associated with prostate health) levels.

While recovery took about 3 years, the impact extended beyond his medical improvement. He found incredible support and connection within the research team.

"My research team has not just been a research team. They have been my friends from day one."

- Anthony

This personal connection and medical progress dramatically enhanced Anthony's quality of life. Now, he's driven to inspire others. "If I can pass on any information about my journey to anybody, then that makes me feel as though I'm doing something, putting something back," he explains.

Anthony believes some people don't fully understand what research entails. "They just think it's scientists working in a lab. But it's more than that."

He passionately encourages everyone to consider taking part. "Without research, we will never, ever know whether there's a cure." His story powerfully shows how participating can offer hope, foster unique relationships, and lead to life-changing outcomes, motivating others to get involved.
